For a short city break of 3–5 days, the cheapest plan at £10.00 will cover Maps, WhatsApp, and casual browsing. If you're spending one to two weeks travelling around Nigeria, step up to a mid-tier plan — usually the strongest value option on a per-GB basis in Ubigi's Nigeria lineup.
If you plan to work remotely, stream video daily, or use your phone as a hotspot for a laptop, lean towards a larger bundle — the 25 GB option is the safer choice.
One thing to note: Ubigi Nigeria plans are data-only. You won't get a local number, but your existing SIM handles calls and texts as normal. iMessage, WhatsApp, and FaceTime all work over data.

Ubigi is a well-regarded eSIM provider with solid Nigeria coverage. Plans range from short-break options to longer-stay packages, making Ubigi a flexible choice whether you're spending a long weekend or travelling for a month.
Nigeria has four operators: MTN Nigeria (by far the biggest, with around 40% market share), Airtel Nigeria, Globacom and 9mobile. MTN has the deepest 4G footprint and was first to launch commercial 5G in Lagos in August 2022. 5G is now available across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan and Kano on MTN, with Airtel and others rolling out their own networks. 4G is solid in cities and along main highways. Northern states near the Sahel and parts of the Niger Delta thin out and have intermittent service for security and infrastructure reasons. The Yankari game reserve has limited coverage.
Is Ubigi good in Nigeria?
In our testing, Ubigi connected reliably across major cities and travel routes in Nigeria. Plug is type D/G (230V, two common types) and the currency is the naira. Lagos traffic is genuinely legendary and not in a good way, allow double the time you think you need for any cross-city trip.
